SPS Commerce is seeking a strong Associate Account Executive to join our sales organization in Australia! In this role, you will learn the fundamentals of successful prospecting, apply newly acquired sales skills, and ultimately increase your earnings potential as you transition into managing your own book of business.

Day to Day
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will join a growing team or Associate Account Executives and interact regularly with Account Executives, Marketing, Implementation, and other departments. You will learn essential skills from the ground up to ensure your success, including prospecting, mastering sales techniques and processes, gaining in-depth product knowledge, sharpening negotiation skills, and more. You'll think a lot about upgrades that solve pain points and sell contracts. Post training, your primary functions will be to:
- Handle incoming leads as assigned
- Perform inside sales functions
- Sell solutions to existing customers to meet their needs
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Sales Approach: Engage with both prospective and existing customers using a consultative sales approach to understand their needs, uncover opportunities, and drive sales.
- Sales Cycle & Territory Management: Collaborate with Account Executives to learn the complete sales cycle process while assisting in territory management. Over time, you will take ownership of the entire sales cycle, drive revenue, and close sales.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by providing accurate product information and timely follow-up, all while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Work collaboratively within the team and across functions, aligning with SPS Values. Document key findings, progress, and pipeline velocity in Salesforce.com.
This is a hybrid role where you'll work in the office, Tuesday through Thursday. You may be asked to come in additional days, particularly during training. Our offices are open and comfortable, making interacting with others easy. We have two positions available, one in Melbourne and one in Sydney.
Required Skills
To be a good fit for the Associate Account Executive opportunity, you will have:
- A post-secondary education; a bachelor’s degree is highly preferred
- 2+ years of relevant experience, including direct interaction with upper leadership and other decision-makers
- Proven aptitude for sales, a drive for results, and a strong desire to meet and exceed goals
- Clear, concise, and confident communicator with strong writing skills and the ability to engage in effective conversations, including navigating difficult discussions
- Demonstrated behaviours of integrity, curiosity, active engagement, self-driven initiative, collaboration, relationship building, customer support, and alignment with leadership expectations
- Strong organizational, prioritization and follow-up skills to meet customer and business needs
Preferred experience:
- 1+ years of experience in Sales (outside sales, inside sales, retail sales, telemarketing) preferred
- SaaS, supply chain, or retail experience
- Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Salesforce.com
