Position Summary:    

As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for correct and complete financial administration of various countries across Europe. 

You will work in the European Finance team in a collaborative environment along with a hybrid arrangement.  

You will have the opportunity to grow and learn new tools while having the chance to make a significant impact in the team. 

   

Key Responsibilities:    

  • Lead a strong month-end close process, including (but not limited to):  
    • Apply multi-element revenue recognition under IFRS or US GAAP.  
    • Prepare Work in Progress (WIP) positions.  
    • Apply lease accounting under IFRS or US GAAP.  
    • Capitalize R&D hours.  
    • Account for foreign currency transactions and translations.   
    • Consolidate subsidiaries.  
    • Process intercompany recharges.   
    • Prepare account reconciliations for your assigned areas in accordance with US SOX requirements.
    • Prepare easily understandable journals with high quality and strong supporting documentation.  
  • Prepare and file annual reports to the Chamber of commerce or other regulatory bodies in Europe.  
  • Review and reconcile VAT returns.  
  • Review daily activities such as invoices, payment proposals, bank transactions, etc.      
  • Working closely with HR and Payroll team in US to ensure we pay our employees timely and accurately  
  • Reconciling payroll monthly journals, GL balances with system reports and payments   

 

Location:    

This is a hybrid role based in our Breukelen office  

   

Required Qualifications:    

  •  5+ years of relevant experience in a dynamic international environment  
  • Experience in the field of time, project and contract administration and work in progress 
  • Strong experience in recording journal entries. 
  • Affinity with IT is required 
  • Good knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables  
  • Fluent command of Dutch, both oral and written  
  • Good command of English, both oral and in writing  
  • You have a hands-on mentality and good communication skills 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience with Oracle ERP system or another ERP system
